Mrs. Shatskaya is exponentially better in her teaching methods and results compared to other piano teachers I have experienced. This is mainly because of her persistence and focus on getting the kids to practice, practice, practice. Also, she is very experienced in theory and piano technique. Mrs. Shatskaya is very professional. She is very accommodating for scheduling and very committed to her teaching.
My daughters have been taking lessons with Mrs. Shatskaya since their feet couldn't touch the pedals. Eight years for one of my daughters and six years for the other. Both of them enjoy playing the piano because of the quality teaching they receive and the results they see in their performances and skill level. They have competed in a variety of competitions and received the highest scores. Before moving to Omaha, my daughter had taken piano lessons for seven years with four different teachers. However, it was not until she started lessons with Galina Shatskaya in 2001 that she began to blossom as a pianist.
Galina is a gifted pianist that is very knowledgeable about technique, theory, history, and more. Furthermore, she has the ability to transfer this knowledge to her students effectively. All of her students learn more than just how to play notes, consequently, they play with such beauty and grace. Galina does expect a lot of her students, but in return she gives a lot of herself. She is an exceptionally kind, patient, and dedicated teacher who adapts her teaching methods to accommodate each student’s unique traits and abilities. I highly recommend her to any parent that truly wants their child to excel as a pianist.
My daughter was with Galina for three years until she left to attend college. I then took her vacancy and I am currently one of Galina’s students. By the way, my son studied with Galina for six years before he left to attend college. He also did extremely well with Galina as his instructor.
